When choosing a retirement community, the options for living arrangements, healthcare, and daily services are abundant. At Trinity Oaks, we offer more than just a place to live; we provide a warm, familial atmosphere where a strong sense of community thrives. Here, connections go beyond just knowing your name—we celebrate the personal stories of our residents, including their families and even their pets. Every member of our community, whether resident or staff, is part of the Trinity Oaks family. We foster genuine relationships, ensuring everyone feels valued and cared for, creating a true sense of belonging.
Trinity Oaks is an affiliate of Lutheran Services Carolinas, which provides services for the aging as well as child and family services. LSC’s mission statement is “Empowered by Christ, we walk together with all we serve.”
Our History
Located in the historic town of Salisbury, N.C., Trinity Oaks Retirement Community opened its doors in 1993 as part of a mission to provide comprehensive care and quality living for seniors. The campus started with the Trinity Oaks apartments and soon expanded to include a cottage community built between 1998 and 2004. In 2007, we introduced the Virginia Casey Center, our secured memory care program. The following year, we enhanced our common areas, dining facilities, and wellness spaces. Throughout our journey, Trinity Oaks has consistently delivered exceptional service and high-quality care, marked by ongoing improvements and renovations to meet the evolving needs of our residents.
Our Leadership
Lutheran Services Carolinas (LSC) represents the coming together of two Carolina health and human services organizations, Lutheran Services for the Aging (LSA) and Lutheran Family Services of the Carolinas (LFS).

At Trinity Oaks, we believe every person is a reflection of God’s love and worthy of respect, kindness, and belonging. Our commitment to justice is an expression of our faith and values, guiding us as we create a welcoming, affirming community for all.

We recognize that true justice is more than equal treatment—it involves actively addressing barriers, listening to underrepresented voices, and ensuring that every person has the opportunity to flourish.

Trinity Oaks offers a range of initiatives to foster a more inclusive atmosphere:
- Cultural Competency Plan: Lutheran Services Carolinas’ annual and comprehensive Cultural Competence Plan outlines the history, strategies, and operational initiatives to live out its Justice value. Every member of the LSC family is encouraged to live in justice, a right relationship with God, and with each other.
- Educational Programs: We provide educational opportunities, workshops, and seminars on justice and respect topics, encouraging open dialogue and broadening our understanding.
- Cultural Celebrations: We celebrate the diversity of our community by hosting events that showcase various cultures, traditions, and holidays, allowing everyone to share and learn from one another.

Lutheran Services Carolina
Lutheran Services Carolinas (LSC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that represents the union of two essential health and human service ministries: Lutheran Services for the Aging, established in 1960, and Lutheran Family Services in the Carolinas, founded in 1976.
With the support of dedicated volunteers, generous donors, and committed faith partners, LSC offers a broad spectrum of services and residential options to seniors across North Carolina. These include independent living, rehabilitation, skilled nursing care, assisted living residences, geriatric care management, home care, and comprehensive information and referral services.
In both North and South Carolina, LSC’s mission extends to protect children from abuse and neglect through foster care, enhance the lives of individuals with severe and persistent mental illnesses, foster independence for those with developmental disabilities, place children in loving adoptive homes, provide a safe haven for refugees, and support men and women facing various life challenges to live proudly and independently through residential and supportive services. LSC’s holistic approach ensures that those in need receive compassionate, effective, and personalized care across all stages of life.
