Committed to creating a welcoming community that respects the inherent dignity of all its members, Trinity Oaks in Salisbury has completed SAGECare training for staff on its entire campus.
SAGECare is a division of SAGE, the nation’s oldest organization dedicated to improving the lives of LGBT older adults through LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender) competency training. Estimates suggest that by 2030 there will be approximately 7 million LGBT older adults in this country. Diversity training is becoming increasingly important to those serving seniors as they focus on delivering compassionate, person-centered care.
“SAGECare training for our staff helps ensure that everyone in the Trinity Oaks community is treated with the dignity and respect they deserve,” said Bill Johnson, executive director of the Trinity Oaks campus.
“Our Lutheran Services Carolinas mission is: ‘Empowered by Christ, we walk together with all we serve,’” said LSC President Ted Goins. “We serve all, celebrating the diversity and inclusion of all.”
Trinity Oaks is a senior living community in Salisbury offering independent cottage and apartment living, assisted living, skilled nursing care, and home care services.
